Job Description
QA Engineer Job Duties:
Communicates as engineering liaison between OEM and USA office QA issues.
Debug Engineering Pilot samples with OEM and USA office to refine design’s performance so it achieves product requirements prior to production release.
Assures product quality by writing QA specifications. Work alongside OEM to confirm that assembly line and QA departments implement test methods requested for consistent high quality production output.
Travel to OEM’s as required to work alongside their engineering, manufacturing and QA departments to develop products for manufacturing.
Writing test plans and test cases: QA engineers need to understand the requirements and functionalities of the software or application and write test plans and test cases to ensure that all aspects of the software are tested.
Performing tests: QA engineers need to perform various tests, including functional testing, performance testing, security testing, etc., to ensure that all aspects of the software meet expectations.
Reporting and tracking defects: QA engineers need to record and report all defects found, and track and verify the resolution of defects.
Coordinating and communicating: QA engineers need to work closely with developers, product managers, and other team members to ensure the quality and stability of the software.
Skills/Qualifications:
Bachelor of Electronic Engineering or equivalent 4 year college education
5 years or more experience as a Project Engineer developing appliance products, preferably in juvenile appliance category.
Must be proficient in the following aspects of engineering design for high volume manufacturing:
Designing plastics for Injection Molding, Extrusion and Joining (sonic and solvents)
Designing complex moving mechanisms that include gear trains, motors and pumps
Experience designing products that have moving fluids and plumbing
Integrating electronics with the mechanical design including basic knowledge of how electronic circuits work.
Excellent communication skills. Speaks and Writes fluently in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
Superior computer skills with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook. Basic CAD skills with either Pro/e or Solidworks to view parts, assemblies and cross sections to provide engineering comments to OEM’s.
Strong project management skills with keen attention to detail.
